Winds are Playing Hide and Seek on Day 3

Silvaplana, Switzerland - 23/08/23 – The racing excitement at the Silvaplana event took an unexpected turn on Day 3 as the elusive Maloja wind failed to make its anticipated appearance. The first option on the table was a speed challenge, brimming with enticing rewards in the form of iQFOiL Class gear for the participants. However, the contingency plan was dependent on the absence of northward winds. In the event that the Maloja wind unveiled itself, the focus would shift to course racing, provided the conditions proved conducive.

Despite the hopes held for the wind's arrival, it remained conspicuously absent throughout the day. A brief resurgence around 3:30 PM originating from the north offered a fleeting tease, yet the breeze couldn't gain enough momentum to substantiate a racing opportunity. In light of these circumstances, the race committee had no choice but to hoist the AP over A flag, signaling a suspension of racing for the day.

As the event progresses, the anticipation for racing action remains high. With tomorrow poised to bring a resurgence of racing fervor, participants and spectators alike can eagerly look forward to an invigorating day on the water. Adding to the excitement, a live broadcast has been scheduled between 2:00 PM and 3:30 PM, ensuring that enthusiasts won't miss out on any of the upcoming action.

The iQFOiL Class event at Silvaplana continues to capture the essence of windsurfing prowess while adapting to the ever-changing winds that characterize this exhilarating sport.
